The New York Mets lost their fifth straight game on Saturday night.
Throughout the skid, or “spurt” as Mets manager Mickey Callaway called it in his postgame comments, the team’s offense has been woeful. The Mets have been shutout three times in four days and haven’t had the lead in a game since last Sunday (45 innings) in San Diego.
