Strubel ..... just picked up ur feed. Good to see you blogging about the Mets again. SNY is airing those Yearbook shows, but they're just PR stuff, not very detailed or analytical. You're not missing much bud ..... best-jay

MLB Network is a Godsend. It has a good mix of programming, games and studio analysis to hold the attention a baseball geek like me for hours. The pluses are that it airs vintage games (the Larson no hitter was awesome!), and that it's studio shows are incredible. What I would like to see more of is games from the 60's and games aired from the Winter Leagues and Fall Leagues.

we’ve been down this road before. he didn’t get approval but rather the PA issued a blanket statement on supplements. the trainer says he didn’t give the ok (maybe he’s lying to cover his ####). his personal trainer read the label (why is he an authority?).

he could have called the MLB hotline, or he could have not bought “testosterone booster” “for hardcore users only”. it may not be his fault that he ‘broke the rules’, but it sure is his fault that he took a testosterone booster. and we don’t know whose fault it is that he wasn’t notified that the product was in violation.

why is he trying to boost his testosterone anyway? isn’t that exactly what banning andro was all about? isn’t taking testosterone directly banned?

i mean, somebody dropped the ball in notifying him but i have to believe you’ve looked at what he took by this time, man. it’s not vitamins, it’s a testosterone precursor and bills itself as that.

Illegal is illegal and he took it at crtical points in the season. There is no excuse for it. He tested posative and on top of that he didnt cooperate correctly so now his suspension is even longer than it had to be. If this guy were on my team i would feel the same way. I just hate when people comprimise the integrity of such a great game and he did just that and honestly he was a huge part of their run to the division but now i feel like he is a disgrace to it and they probly would have won the division regardless but now we will never know what could have been.

You would think that with the microscope that has been placed over professional sports and the use of banned substances, athletes, coaches and trainers would be more careful and made SURE they understand what is illegally and legally used by the athletes.

From what I can tell, Romero's only arguement is this was an over the counter drug.

Tell that to the Marine who was dishonorably dischaged for testing positive for the use of goldenseal...sold over the counter at an GNC outlet.
