PODCAST: TOM GAMBOA

P

Tom Gamboa is what we call in the baseball world “a lifer.”

He has played the game, coached, scouted and managed baseball teams for 44 years, before officially retiring from the game after the 2016 season. Gamboa’s last managerial job was in 2014 with the Brooklyn Cyclones, the Class A affiliate of the New York Mets. During his three-year stint at Brooklyn, he managed current Mets Michael ConfortoAmed Rosario and Tomas Nido.

On the latest podcast, Gamboa describes what he saw early in the development of these three players, plus his cameo in Moneyball, the bizarre incident in 2002 when he was attacked by a father/son while coaching first base for the Kansas City Royals, his three passions in life: Faith, Family and Friends (make that five, baseball and golf) and the day his life changed: April 25, 2019.
