John Sadak had resigned himself that he would never get to call a single inning of Major League Baseball. Then, early this year, after 15 years calling minor league baseball, he got “the call” from the New York Mets.
On June 9, 2019, Sadak was in the booth calling the Colorado Rockies/New York Mets game for WCBS at Citi Field. It was a “pinch me” moment for Sadak. He filled in for Howie Rose this past week, joining Wayne Randazzo in the booth for the Mets road series in Atlanta and Kansas City. We caught up with Sadak from his home in Delaware today. He talks about his career path, the long, hard hours required to create opportunity and his emotions when his dream came true.
