Something mystic was in the New York air Wednesday. The New York Yankees recorded 27 outs to win their 27th World Series title, the first under manager Joe Girardi – who, by the way, wears No. 27.
Did that give you goosebumps?
In the legendary words of the late Paul Harvey, “And now, the rest of the story …”
According to a news report in the Westchester Journal News, Girardi stopped to help a woman who had lost control of her car, crashing into a wall on the Cross County Parkway in New York.
News reports claim “Girardi ran across traffic to get to the injured motorist, [then] jumped up and down trying to flag down police.”
Westchester County police officer Kathleen Cristiano said, “The guy wins the World Series, what does he do? He stops to help. It was totally surreal.”
And now you know … the rest of the story.
